Here is a great article by Joseph E. Stiglitz, a Nobel Prize Economist. His article which will appear in the May issue for Vanity Fair, raises a lot of great points that will make a good conversation for people to have with their family members, colleagues, neighbors, friends, or people in general who are interested in the future of this country and the greater good of humanity.
Below is a quote from his article.
“The more divided a society becomes in terms of wealth, the more reluctant
the wealthy become to spend money on common needs….Much of today’s
inequality is due to manipulation of the financial system, enable by changes
in the rules that have been bought and paid for by the financial industry.”

With Joseph talking “of the 1%, by the 1%, for the 1%,” I wonder what would the 99% say about this. What would happened if the 99% understood that they have been manipulated all this time? What if the 99% realized that the “marginal-productivity theory” is a theory that does not benefit them but continues to make rich people wealthier? How long will we continue to let ourselves be controlled by the 1%? What will it take for the rest of us to stop the 1% from further destroying the future of our generation and our children’s generation?
