LA CAN on Sunday, January 15th made history by having the release of Freedom NOW! at the Grammy Museum and later that afternoon organizing the Skid Row Music Festival with the support of Chuck D from Public Enemy. Check out the link below to see pictures of the release of Freedom NOW! and Operation Skid Row.

Freedom NOW! is the follow up book to Downtown Blues: A Skid Row Reader that was released last year. Read a review of the Downtown Blues event here: http://cangress.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/community-connection-39.pdf. People can also read about the community-based human rights assessments of Safer Cities Initiative.

I am including videos that summarizes the Downtown Blues and Freedom NOW! Enjoy.
