Watch Vin Scully Call Clayton Kershaw’s 1st Career No Hitter

June 19, 2014

Dodgers fans remember the date: June 18, 2014. This will be a date that will be engraved in Dodgers History. Last night at Dodger Stadium, Clayton Kershaw threw his first career no hitter. He could have had a perfect game had it not been for Hanley Ramirez throwing error. Not only did Kershaw threw a No No but struck out 15 Rockies batters in the process. It was the Dodgers 2nd no hitter in the season, the first coming from Josh Beckett against the Phillies. The last time the Dodgers had two no hitters’ in a season was in 1956. It was the 12th in LA Dodgers history and the 22nd in Dodgers franchise. How fitting that the 22nd No Hitter came from the man who wears #22. The stars aligned perfectly for Kershaw.

With the Dodgers win which completed a sweep of the Colorado Rockies, the Dodgers are now 4 games back of the Giants. 10 days ago they were 9 1/2 games back. It appears that the Dodgers are peaking at the right time. I will not be surprised if they end the All Star Break ahead of the Giants.

Interesting fact that I came across while putting this blog together. Clayton Kershaw threw a Perfect Game in High School where he struck out 15 batters. Yesterday had it not been for Hanley’s error, he would have had a Perfect Game with 15 strikeouts. I have included the video of Kershaw’s Perfect Game.

Below are the video highlights from the game. Watch Vin Scully call Kershaw’s No Hitter. Vin has now called 19 career no hitters. UNBELIEVABLE!
